I am currently working on a full-length opera called Ishi. The opera is based on the true story of the last survivor of the Yahi tribe who came out of hiding in 1911 near Oroville, California. Ishi was brought to the Museum of Anthropology in San Francisco where he lived the remainder of his life.
I have completed the piano vocal score of the opera and am now working on orchestrating the final scenes of Act II. I hope to finish the orchestration by Spring 2022. Listen to an excerpt from Scene 4:
