I am currently working on a full-length opera called Ishi. The opera is based on the true story of the last survivor of the Yahi tribe who came out of hiding in 1911 near Oroville, California. Ishi was brought to the Museum of Anthropology in San Francisco where he lived the remainder of his life.
I have completed six scenes of the opera from the first act for over an hour of music. I hope to finish the first act by the end of the year. Listen to music from Scene 2 with Kirk Eichelberger as Kroeber, and Nikolas Nackley as Waterman.
